Given the internet's general love for GIFs, it's not that strange that there are full-featured suites out there that concentrate merely on these moving images. The Ulead suite is certainly something that lovers of the format should be paying attention to, especially if they want to master the art of silent, moving images. While there's nothing in the program that's truly a revelation, it's still a fantastic set of tools that have a very limited purpose.

If you can get past the part where the suite is just used for GIFs, you'll see a really good software suite. The tweening tool is probably the best part of the whole package - it fills in the blanks of animation, helping to make for smoother replay on the files. It's also nice that the suite features a tool to compress the GIFs down to the smallest possible size, making them easier to upload and far less annoying to load. As a one and done sort of tool, this suite is great. Just don't expect it to take the place of any of your more sophisticated editing software.

If you love making GIFs, this is probably a great download for you. It's a bit on the expensive side and it's not totally user friendly, but it's still a stellar example of what you can do with single-purpose software in general and GIF animation software in particular. As long as you don't expect it to be something that it is not, you'll get a lot of enjoyment out of the Ulead Gif Animator.
